SurroundCast
Great for apartment living, hardwood floor installations and rentals where you can’t pull cables to the back of the room for a 5.1 theatre setup, just include the SurroundCast wireless transmitter and receiver in the installation. Each receiver requires power and both the rear left and right speaker to be wired to the receiver which sits in the rear of the room.

What better way to satisfy your builder than with
A-BUS… creating iPod-ready homes with the A-BUS iSolutions range
The iA-4RJ2/DC6 (2 room) or iA-4RJ4/DC6ALF (4 room alfresco) kit ships with the A-BUS iPod wall dock as a central source and controls the iPod/iTouch/iPhone (fast track forward & backward) via the A-BUS remote keypad to the A-BUS/DIRECT (IR speakers).  Cat5 is your main cable with a short run of speaker cable to the passive speaker.  A builder’s dream!  Of course if the builder/client prefers a volume control module on the wall, they can use the touchbutton AB-43 + a pair of in ceiling or outdoor speakers.  The A-BUS remote keypad would then be an optional extra for the iPod wall dock control.

 Dealer's Corner
Mark of Digitel AV shares a tech tip.
“To ensure the best quality A-BUS installation, make sure you use STRANDED Cat5 cable and STRANDED RJ-45 jacks. In addition, the RJ-45 jack needs to be a brand name not something cheap. The most popular brand is CABAC supplied by most electrical wholesalers and works best with the 12v power and the audio. SOLID Cat5 cable and SOLID RJ-45 connectors in no way are to be used” states Mike.
LeisureTech Electronics always recommends to use A-BUS Data-line Cat5 cable, manufactured specifically for A-BUS equipment.

9 Rules of a Great Home Theatre Demo
By Peter Tribeman & Jeannette Howe for CE Pro.
Electronics: Select high-quality electronics with speakers that exhibit a high degree of intelligibility (this is particularly critical for baby-boomers as hearing deteriorates with age). Calibrate the system for both video and audio.
Best/Better/Good: To demonstrate more than one system, execute a best/better/ good strategy. Start with the “best” system and gradually take performance or features away. It is vital that the switching system allows a seamless transition to emphasize qualitative differences.
Length: With little exception, a great demo should be in the 6- to 8-minute range. If it’s too short, there is no time for the consumer to get emotionally involved. If it’s too long, the consumer starts checking their phone for text messages and you lose them.

Sydney’s electronic waste service next collection is March 6
With the switch over to digital TV and TVs becoming so cheap, the surge in electronic waste disposals has risen in Sydney. The electronic waste when properly disposed, is sent off to specialty recyclers and stripped down keeping them away from the tips so the toxic chemicals don’t get into the ground. TVs, computers, video equipment, phones, DVD players, CDs, radios, hifi systems and game consoles are welcome but no white goods.
Future Sydney collection dates are below or check the City of Sydney website here.
Sunday 6 March

  Sunday 5 June

  Sunday 11 September

  Sunday 4 December

9-3pm; Bay Street Depot, Ultimo (corner of Bay and Macarthur Street)
Do your part and keep Australia beautiful, its FREE! To find your local e-waste location, just Google your capital city’s electronic waste council.
